Great Bass for Intermediate Player
Sam W 28.05.2020
I upgraded to this from a friends Well used Squier Precision Bass and use it for practicing and improving at home.
I was torn between this and the Squier CV 70’s Jazz Bass, but ultimately settled for this bass due its shape/style and the PJ pickup configuration.

Really enjoy the look and overall playability of this bass, thanks to the shorter medium scale neck.

100% recommended!

Great bass especially considering the price
UlosUpen 23.09.2022
This is an awesome instrument considering the low price. It is very versatile having both pbass and jbass pickups and it sounds great. The neck is very comfortable and the shorter scale improves playability. It was set up perfectly out of the box. There were almost no issues with the quality either - the finish is great, the frets don't sprout as is common in this price range, however, one volume knob is a bit looser and you can actually turn it from 0 back to 10 again while turning it in the same direction: there's a slight click and it's back at full volume. That's an easy fix though, just have to tighten the screw. Other than that I'm loving it. Seems that squire CV basses go through better quality control than their guitars, as I had experienced issues with them and the indian laurel on their guitar fretboards is always extremely dry and unpleasant. No such issue with the bass.

Excellent bass after a few tweaks
MatthewJull 05.08.2021
I'm really pleased with this bass!
As with all Squiers it needed to be properly intonated and have the action set. But after this it was awesome to play! Also I changed the strings to flatwounds, which really added to awesomeness;)

An issue with this bass though, is the stacked pods. They are a bit misaligned, which varies the resistance when you turn them. But I haven't been bothered by this enough to try to fix it.

All in all: I am really pleased with myself for buying this bass!

T
Great bass!
TrondNorway 25.08.2024
I just started playing bass, and this is my first bass ever. I did a little research and landed on the Jaguar CV in black, and I am really satisfied! The bass is beautiful in black, and for a beginner like me the bass was totally ok to just start playing without any further adjustments (I'll have a set up later). It is not too heavy, the fretboard is comfortable, and I like the size. The stacked volume and tone knobs are cool, but they are not completely straight/aligned, which makes the quality seem a little less good. But all in all a very good beginners bass!
