The stand is very robust and stable but my 14'' snare ''floats'' in the stand. When tightened it raises the snare from the rubber grip a bit but holds perfectly.

Bought this to support a secondary snare and I would highly recommend, can support a 14x8 snare easily and the basket can fold up far enough to hold a 10" tom so its very multipurpose

Strong investment for the frugal professional

In my situation, I am rebuilding an entire recording and gigging drum set from the ground up, as I moved to Europe from the United States. I already what I needed and that it must be functional, reliable, but not so heavy and overbuilt either.
This snare basket is the perfectly well rounded product that suits my needs, given it has a mid range price point, sensible adjustability, and contrary to my previous snare basket (Pearl brand), the locking teeth mechanism is more stable long term for holding heavy snares (mine is roughly 15-18kg) without experiencing slippage.
My only dislike is that the wing nut is made of a plastic rather than metal, hence why I gave the quality 4 stars out of 5. I am not worried about prematurely wearing down that part, however.
Overall, it is a great snare basket for the money and makes for the perfect workhorse piece of hardware.

Very solid construction from one of the best brands in drums hardware. Never had issues with Gibraltar's, and that appears to be the case here.
