A
Wonderful sounding mini chorus
Anonymous 10.05.2016
I would have never thought about picking up an Ibanez Mini chorus if it wasn't for the sublime quality of the mini Tube Screamer - and I'm very glad I did - it's a wonderful piece of kit with a vibrant, luscious sound.

I keep this chorus turned on for 99% of my playing with various levels: very subtle on country licks, very heavy on proggy atmospheric compositions or somewhere in the middle for simulating dual-tracked guitars in a higher gain environment.

It's got a very warm sound, and doesn't have any clangorous or dissonant echoing going on - I really enjoy how it gives alot of depth and nuance to even a relatively simple line. Combined with a delay pedal and a little reverb you're really set for a 'big sound' that you'd expect to hear from any well produced guitar track.

If you dial up the levels to maximum then it's got a soupy mellow sound like the intro to a few Nirvana songs, but it does work best in the 1/4 to 1/2-way enabled area: very sweet and subtle and a great addition, rather than a distinct 'effect' like a bitcrusher that would only be usable in very situational settings.

The housing is solid metal and there is great tracking on all the knobs, even the micro-knobs are solid and not loose in their mountings. The pedal is very small - with side audio-jacks and a rear power-jack socket it is well oriented to snugly fit among bigger brothers.

I personally am not a huge fan of the pink-purple colour : I feel like it should be a eye watering pink or something more plain - but it's a very minor concern.

Overall I think this is a great value always-on pedal for the money.

Excellent sound, price and footprint. Capable of both very slow and fast speeds.

This has replaced my Mooer Ensemble King pedals as it can do faster speeds. Not as warm as the Mooers were but this is not as apparent in a mix. Analog, cheap, small footprint and capable of faux-leslie sounds thanks to faster speeds. The smaller dials don't have white indicator lines -so are difficult to see but I added a little paint with a toothpick and now all is good.

Amazing sound

I’m a beginner and my teacher recommended me this pedal to get the sound of post-punk and grunge bands from the 80s. He couldn’t be more right.

TV
The Viking 17.11.2018
Pros: Brilliant chorus if you are looking for that "Purple Rain" sound (roughly the three knobs around 12 o'clock),
The range is nice and wide for each of the three knobs.
It is very compact.
The pedal is very quiet.
Cons: The switch "pops" when switching it on and off (not cool when you are in a quiet TV-studio for live recording). This "pop" is normal with these pedals according to the guys at Thomann. Ironic that Ibanez was the first ones (apparently) to come up with a solution for getting rid of that "pop" back in the 80's?!
Verdict: A good solid pedal (if it wasn't for the "pop"). I haven't tried the of other "budget" pedals but have used the TC electronic Nova System in thew past where I choose to use the pitch shift instead of the chorus to thicken the sound
