Good quality product

I had never used a drop clutch before, so I opted for this one to see how it feels. The results might be surprising if you don't have a sturdy hi-hat stand - mine is a cheap, basic one and it takes a lot of effort in the step I have to make on the pedal to clamp the clutch back to the top hat. This takes away too much attention from staying on track.

What I didn't like is that it comes with these rubber/plastic "felts" which I don't really find useful. I just ordered a set of fabric ones and didn't use them at all.

Other than the felts, it is a good buy - it holds tight when you screw it to the rod of the hi-hat stand, the release spring works fine.

I would recommend it only if your hi-hat stand is sturdy - it's really not that comfortable if you're dealing with a flimsy pedal.

I'll definitely use it when I get my hands on a better hi-hat stand.

It is simple, cheap... and works well!

If you play the double bass the whole song or just for few accents here and there, this is a great gadget to have in your bag, period. It is perfect as the main clutch on your hihat stand as well as the spare one that is in your bag that will cover every situation and scenario that can happen in that venue, club or gig.
It works really well, it's fluid while unlocking and it catches back the top cymbal immediately, so a really good fast action.
The structure is solid, it holds the rod and the clutch shape is perfect for hitting it with the stick, disengaging it and start double kicking without losing the beat: in other words, it is perfect!
I really recommend it.

I've used the Pearl ones in the past and those things are really well made. These ones, as expected, aren't the be all end all, but they certainly get the job done. If you wanna try a drop clutch and see if you like the mechanics of it but don't wanna spend close to 30 euro on a really good one, this one will give you a taste of what drop clutches are about. I wouldn't use these on a recording, though.

Well made & cheap.
Take your foot off the pedal - hit the lever - the cymbal drops.
Press pedal down & hi-hat re-engages.
What more could you get out of a more expensive clutch?
There is very little to go wrong with this & at this price - buy one! - it works.
