Half of the strap is good - half of the strap is rubbish

They have obviously gone to a lot of trouble with the padded part but the extension piece is rubbish. Surely they can come up with a better way of length adjustment? On a 4 inch wide strap, that will be used on a heavy guitar, a thin bit of leather through slots that weaken the main body of the strap is just not good enough.
