Forget the original Klon... buy this instead for a fraction of it's price, and be even more satisfied due to it's extra's THAT WORK.
This is a very very fine pedal.
Low noise circuit, very well working and responsive adapt circuitry that regains the bass freqs when picking lighter.
The tone and dry/wet controls are working excellent (especially when using higher gain settings).
This hard clipper cleans up unbelievable well (although it still feels like you have dynamite under your finger tips) and deserves to be plugged into a responsive well build tube amp to hit the input harder, or to add a gain..
Initially I used it more as a boost (1 o'clock) with a little drive (10 o'clock), but currently I am using it as a drive pedal (boost at 9 and drive at 1 o'clock).
This thing has tons of boost and a very decent amount of mid pushing drive. Far more than the Halcyon Blue, and even more than the Halcyon green).
I was pleasantly surprised how well it performs when being stacked with other pedals. Fuzz's and Wah's going in and ambient fx post it, did not result into strange behavior or clutter and felt quite natural.
The whole thing is build sturdy, the switching is soft and quiet. all connections are on the top and of high quality.
Soundwise, I was astonished by its dynamics. I've had very few non-tube pedals that clean up this way. (and I had A LOT)
This is one of the pedals that makes me feel Iike there was some angry, pre amp tube tucked away in there.. Oh, and it is transparant as F**. You will hear ANY pick accent, EVERY finger you put/miss and I'm also talking the higher drive settings.
The only remark I have is its height, but this was no issue to me since I use a switcher.
Initially made it to my pedalboard as an always on pedal, but was to mid- pushing and moved to the drive section (and was satisfyingly gigged with).
