I'm a big fan of Paiste mallets and this is no exception. I tend to use this mallet with my 24" gongs and my 36/38" gongs. Although a heavier mallet may be needed to bring out the full depth of the 38" (I'd recommend a Paiste M6 for that), I actually use this mallet more on my 38" than I do the M6 because it is so versatile and allows a lot of different approaches to playing (the heavier mallet being mostly suited to slow strikes and spacious striking)....
Anyway, I love this mallet.... brings out wonderful sounds from all my gongs (lovely with Broder Oetken's 24" sound creation earth too) and the slightly less bassy tones from the 38" symphonic.
