Compact near-field monitor

With the Studimon 5, Palmer introduces its first nearfield monitors in a compact two-way design. The 5" woofer is magnetically shielded, while the silk dome tweeter measures 0.75". The Studimon 5 is equipped with a bi-amping power amplifier with an output of 60W RMS. The rear panel houses an XLR and a TRS jack input - so you are flexible in your choice of connection. Also on the back is a hole, which is part of the bass reflex design. With this compact and technically sophisticated design, the Studimon 5 promises accurate sound reproduction, which is especially useful in music production and video editing.

Precise sound reproduction

Thanks to the sophisticated bass reflex design, the Studimon 5 achieves a bass reproduction of up to 50Hz. Thanks to the tweeter's precision, its users perceive the smallest details with a frequency of up to 20kHz. Meanwhile, the internal circuitry made from high-quality components ensures interference-free signal reproduction. On the back is a knob for adjusting the volume. In the same place, there is a balanced XLR and a 6.3mm stereo jack input. The former can be used to play back mixer signals, while the latter caters for smartphone signals.

Perfect for small (home) studios

Thanks to its compact design and low price, the Studimon 5 is suitable for small recording studios and beginners in music production. It accommodates flexible signal inputs and is also particularly easy to install and configure. Its design is responsible for the clear bass reproduction and precise, detailed highs. The Studimon 5 is housed in a robust cabinet made of birch plywood and MDF with a rough-textured laminate coating. With this robust construction and elegant appearance, it integrates immediately into any studio environment. The Studimon 5 is powered via the supplied mains adapter, the connection for which is located on the rear panel. The on/off switch is also located there.

About Palmer

Palmer is one of seven brands belonging to Adam Hall GmbH from Neu-Ansbach in Hessen, Germany, which was founded in 1975. Starting as a manufacturer of robust flight cases, Adam Hall GmbH has developed into a global manufacturer and distributor of event equipment. In addition to studio and PA equipment, the company also produces LED lighting systems, moving lights, cables, protective cable conduits, stands, and stage systems. The Palmer brand is known for marrying analogue circuitry with digital technology. In this way, new innovations are developed that meet the highest demands. The Palmer portfolio includes DI boxes, line isolators, speaker simulations, controllers, and studio monitors.

Extremely high signal-to-noise ratio

The woofer's voice coil uses a ferrite magnet, while the tweeter uses a lightweight neodymium magnet. The crossover, which separates both drivers at a frequency of 2.5kHz, consists of an analogue Linkwitz-Riley filter with a slope of 24dB. Overall, the Studimon 5 outputs a maximum level of up to 110dB at a frequency of 1kHz. In addition, it offers a low signal-to-noise ratio of 85dB, which allows the finest nuances to be heard. Thanks to this equipment, the Studimon 5 impresses with its balanced sound, accurate bass, and stereo imaging.

Perfect studio monitor for smaller rooms.
Kapucci 05.05.2021
I was looking for a monitor to use in my home studio and ended up going with these.
I wanted something small in size and would not go very low hz.
I knew i want to use my own sub so the 70hz-20000hz seemed perfect option for me.

After playing them in for a while i've fallen in love with these, especially together with the sub.
They sound clear, very good imaging and precise sound!

I have a pair of KRK 6's and Edifier S3000 pro's and these are beautiful sounding, especially for my studio room, small in size.

Pros:
Very good sound.
Compact in size.
Beautiful look.
A+ imaging.

Cons:
There could be more settings than a volume knob on the back.

I find these very good for the price and can definitely recommend these for beginner and advanced music producers/lovers.
I give them A++.

Looks amazing, sounds impressive.
drpersil 01.02.2023
These are great little studio monitors. For someone that values look and sound, these are the way to go. Easily the best looking studio monitors out there, great build quality and amazing punchy bring-your-house-down sound that in no way compromises in clarity and quality. I am by no means, a technical expert so I won't go any further. But I've had some similarly priced studio monitors and these are the best I've owned so far.

For customers that may be new to this type of product, like I was a while ago:

- No they don't come in pairs, you have to buy two of them (I mean, you don't have to but I'd strongly recommend it);

- They connect to your mixer via XLR (microphone cables) or 6.3mm jack (no RCA inputs)

- You might want to consider investing in a passive monitor controller such as the Monicon (also by Palmer) and in the same style of the monitors if you're planning on buying two of them. It's not required if you have an audio interface on which you can control the volume via an accessible knob. But if you are to connect them to a mixer that sits a bit far away from your work desk, then the controller is the way to go.

Perfekte Studio-Monitore
linusheeda 09.12.2021
