Good quality-over-cost ratio. Great instrument for beginners/intermediate players.
Nicholas J.C.C. K 04.10.2020
I bought this instrument during my third year of playing the cello. I previously rented one. One day my teacher recommended this cello as a good quality instrument for beginning/intermediate players. He was also thinking about purchasing one for himself, to serve as an instrument to give his classes.

I have been enjoying this cello for 1.5 years now. I have not regretted my purchase for a minute. After a couple of months of playing, the instrument set itself well. (The pegs did not loosen drastically anymore etc.). The sound opened up and is now warm, especially in the lower register (love it!). I enjoy the matte finish, which also matches well with the bow. The bow itself is light in weight and of decent quality. I only had the occasional single broken hair.

In the foreseeable future, I will change the strings. Don't get me wrong. The strings that were delivered with the instrument are fine in my experience, but changing them would make the cello that little bit better. This was also a recommendation of my teacher, to change them after a year or two.

The biggest complaint I would have is about the bag. It's quite a tight fit, which is great for saving space and carrying the instrument on your back on a bicycle (also because it's light), but I would recommend to look for a more protective casing after a while. Also, the shoulder straps of the bag are basic and not particularly comfortable.

In short:
I recommend this instrument set for beginners and thos who are transitioning towards intermediate level. [I'm currently in this position myself, and it wouldn't be correct to advise above my level]. The quality is good, which a very, very decent price. In my case, this was a clear upgrade from my rental.

My new Cello
Valeriuss 21.05.2018
So I wanted to make some comment about my purchase oh this model.
Since i am beginner it was very difficult for me to chose what model is good to start and of course come normal price range,as people say how much you pay that much you get, well mostly it is true but not for this model. I want to thank to Thoman that made this offer for a cheaper price and yet you got a nice quality, It is made from solid Wood but only the body ,as for the neck it is from maple which i find also good>What i didint like is the strings,OMG when i putted all together and set it up you just cant make the strings in tune and the sound is horrible ,for G string and D. Also i need to mention the Bow,well i was very gentle to start playing and the hair already broked twice ,so i assume if i continue i should buy the new Bow,in my opinion it is not that good quality.
As for the strings i got the new ones ,if you have doubt just select the Larsen no question about it ,of course because the range of price i selected model Crown Larsen String Medium and when i puted and tested considering which strings i had on purchase ,it was like OMG what a change ,now i enjoy the sound .
So my guess even the Cello is good price you must consider to give an extra coin for strings.
Anyway for all that still i believe that we made good purchase for this model ,as for beginer you dont need to spend thousands of euro to have some good cello ,just take this model and you wont be disappointed.
Thank you again Thoman .

Good value

I'm satisfied with this cello. It's obviously won't perform like an expensive one, but this is a cheap instrument. For a few weeks it got out of tune often, but after that it holds the tuning well enough, i rarely have to use the pegs. In the lower registers it lacks a bit of 'umpfh', but overall sounds fine (besides a serious wolf tone exactly on f#). The wood seems nice, even though the lacquer fees a bit thick/cheap, the colour is beautiful.

Worth it's money

It's a well made instrument of good quality with a clear sound, nice color and a good overall sense when you play it. The strings that goes with it are one of the best of their kind and the bow is excellent. Finally the bag to carry it is quite fine and holds well the instrument.
