Das Black Winter hat ein Fullshred in meiner Schecter SLS C7 ersetzt, da der alte pickup nach mein Geschmack zu dünn und leblos war. Der Sound dieses BW ist sehr present und gleichmässig auf alle Frequenzen. Ich bin einfach begeistert, wie es unglaublich gut klingt und nicht nur mit vollen Verzerrungen, sogar auch mit clean sounds: von doom metal bis jazz-funk, usw.! Sehr empfehlungswert!
The Black Winter replaced a full shred in my Schecter SLS C7 because the old pickup was too thin and lifeless for my taste. The sound of this BW is very present and even on all frequencies. I'm just amazed at how incredibly good it sounds and not just with full distortion, but also with clean sounds: from doom metal to jazz-funk, etc.! Highly recommended!

Très bon micro pour celui qui cherche a avoir un son disto de tueur! L'attaque est piquante, précise, le grain est serré avec ce côté "râpeux" typique des Seymour Duncan et le sustain est énorme! Le son est acide et tranchant en single-notes, les palm-mutes bien denses. Le son disto est très défini, il y a comme une clarté puissante qui permet d'entendre clairement les notes dans le dur : le son est très "ouvert".
Il est bon aussi en son clair et un split permet de bonnes options : c'est tout à fait exploitable pour d'autres styles. Le jeu sur le bouton de volume est très interessant, le son reste bon quand on baisse, ce micro se gère facilement malgré l'excès de puissance.
Dans tous les cas il a un côté "inquiétant" dans le timbre et les harmoniques sortent très forts... Rien d'étonnant par rapport à ce pourquoi il est conçu!
La puissance du SH8, la polyvalence et le timbre du SH4 et l'attaque et la clarté du SH6... A mon avis un must du genre que je recommande vivement!!
J'ai enlevé un point pour la fabrication car il n'était pas bien axé, j'ai du retordre les pattes de fixation pour que les cordes soient bien en face des pole-pieces et vis (décalage de plus de 2mm quand-même...)

Very good microphone for anyone looking to have a killer distortion sound! The attack is spicy, precise, the grain is tight with this "raspy" side typical of Seymour Duncan and the sustain is enormous! The sound is acidic and sharp in single-notes, the palm-mutes very dense. The distortion sound is very defined, there is a powerful clarity which allows you to clearly hear the notes in the harsh: the sound is very "open". It is also good in clean sound and a split allows good options: it is entirely usable for other styles. The play on the volume button is very interesting, the sound remains good when you turn it down, this microphone is easy to manage despite the excess power. In all cases it has a "disturbing" side to the timbre and the harmonics come out very strong... Nothing surprising considering what it is designed for! The power of the SH8, the versatility and tone of the SH4 and the attack and clarity of the SH6... In my opinion a must of the genre that I highly recommend!! I removed one point for manufacturing because it was not well aligned, I had to re-twist the fixing lugs so that the ropes were in front of the pole-pieces and screws (offset of more than 2mm anyway ...)

Sehr schöner Tonabnehmer, Sehr detailiert in den Höhen und Bässen, die durchsetzungsfähigkeit der mitten kommt aber keinesfalls zu knapp. Kurzum wie schon vom hersteller beschrieben fühlt sich der Tonabnehemer im Black und Death Metal zu Hause, kann aber auch sehr gut im nicht metal Bereich funktionieren da der gesammt Ton immernoch sehr Klar und offen ist.
Very nice pickup, very detailed in the treble and bass, but the assertiveness of the mids is by no means lacking. In short, as already described by the manufacturer, the pickup feels at home in black and death metal, but can also work very well in non-metal areas because the overall tone is still very clear and open.

Die Klangverteilung von Höhen, Mitten und Bässen entspricht den Herstellerangaben. Das ist ja schon mal was!
Die Bässe sind klar und deutlich nicht dumpf oder matschig.
Die Mitten geben den Ton die nötige Präsents im Song.
Die Höhen sind klar differenziert ohne penetrant in Ohr zu kneifen.
Insgesamt ein deutlich sprechender Tonabnehmer mit gutem Output der ordentlichen Drive bringt. Clean ist der Blackwinter an der Brücke üblicherweise etwas glasig, hat aber bei Verzerrung mit dem 7-Saiter die nötige Transparenz in den Tönen.
Einziges Problem an einer Jackson mit originalen Halstonabnehmer, die Verkabelung ist Fendermäßig anders geschaltet. Ist dann , glaube ich, "Out of Phase".

The sound distribution of highs, mids and bass corresponds to the manufacturer's specifications. That's a start! The bass is clear and not dull or muddy. The mids give the tone the necessary presence in the song. The highs are clearly differentiated without pinching your ear intrusively. Overall, a clearly speaking pickup with good output that brings a lot of drive. Clean, the Blackwinter is usually a bit glassy at the bridge, but when distorted with the 7-string it has the necessary transparency in the tones. The only problem with a Jackson with the original neck pickup is that the wiring is wired differently according to the Fender. Then, I think, it’s “out of phase”.
