This is a great addition for using extra splashes or small bells to put in a convenient place, just above the hihat. Only issue is, if you use a larger splash or bell (meaning 8" and above) it can hinder your ability to dig into the hihat. The added cymbal will cover most of the hihat's surface area, so... use small bells or splashes or use a 15" hihat. Otherwise great and easy to use product.

Survived an entire tour through Scandinavia

Use it for my splash on top of my hi-hats for quick effects.
No problem in setting up or tearing down. Had it with me on a winter tour through Scandinavia where it was stored in a frozen van overnight a couple of times and no problems.

This piece of equipment is as light as it should be but as sturdy as a rock. Is it only TAMA who thought that drummers can throw a small splash over the hi-hat?

Small but very handy

I use this like most people will, just to mount a splash on top of the HH, sometimes a bell. It saves floor space (no need for an extra stand) and weight (not even a boom arm and clamp). Note that if you want to mount a heavier cymbal (or bell), you may have to tighten the HH spring.
