Affordable all-rounder

The SC 440 USB from the t.bone is a studio condenser microphone in large-diaphragm format and also features a USB connection - recording on a PC is therefore a piece of cake, since users do not need any other devices. The housing as well as the included shock mount are both made of solid metal, and with a frequency range of 20Hz to 18kHz and a very linear frequency response for its price class, the sound of the t.bone SC 440 USB is in no way inferior to that of more expensive microphones. All in all, both beginners and advanced home studio owners will enjoy the t.bone SC 440 USB for a long time to come.

Big diaphragm - big sound

A large-diaphragm microphone is the cornerstone of any studio: Regardless of whether vocals, electric or acoustic guitars, percussion, or drums are on the agenda, a good large-diaphragm microphone is never out of place. The mic's proximity effect highlights the depth and brightness of the voice the closer the vocalist speaks or sings into the microphone, and this effect provides the typical "radio voice" for speakers and dazzling highs for singers, making large-diaphragm microphones like the t.bone SC 440 USB the first choice for this kind of application.

Plug in and go

The t.bone SC 440 USB offers an extremely easy setup: There is no need for an interface or a preamp, and no need to worry about phantom power. Users can simply plug the USB cable into the computer and they are ready to go, thanks to its plug-and-play functionality for Windows and Mac. This microphone is the ideal choice for users who want to get started right away, and those who are on the road a lot will be happy not to have to take any other equipment along. Whether singer, guitarist, or podcaster, anyone using the t.bone SC 440 USB can record anywhere and anytime.

About the t.bone

Since 1994, the t.bone has been one of Thomann's in-house brands, and its name can be found on devices such as headphones, wireless systems, in-ear equipment, and various microphones and matching accessories. "the t.bone" products are made exclusively by renowned companies who also manufacture products for other well-known brands. This provides a clear advantage: Brand-quality products at very reasonable prices. And word gets around: One in seven Thomann customers has already bought at least one product from the t.bone.

A saviour in any situation

The supercardioid polar pattern of the t.bone SC 440 USB reliably gates out background and ambient noise, and all sounds not coming from the front are consistently suppressed. When recording on the road or at a desk, less-than-optimum room acoustics or a noisy environment are therefore less of an issue for the user. In addition, the t.bone SC 440 USB comes in a sturdy case, which makes transport safe and easy.

S
Overall great mic for starters
Soma328 28.03.2018
I bought this mic 2 years ago in a bundle, I use it at home, for recording vocals, guitar, bass, flute and other instruments, also for making youtube videos and streaming on twitch. I really like the warm sound it gives to my voice. The large condenser capsule fits really nice for vocals, and stringed instruments.

It`s really cheap. You get exactly what you need for starting a youtube channel or a podcast or if you want to get in music production.
The build quality is excellent. It`s made out of a durable aluminium, the capsule is protected by a strong aluminium mesh. It fell once or twice but it survived perfectly without any damage in the electronics or on the outside.
It`s an USB microphone, plug and play, so no drivers needed, but you can install ASIO drivers for low-latency monitoring.
I use it in Audition and Ableton live, it simply works.
I really like the sound it produces, and it looks and feels professional.

There is a little bit of hissing going on, but i think it`s the drawback of the condenser mics overall not just this model. You can easily remove the noise by recording a few seconds of silence, and then running a noise reduction in Audition or even in a free program called Audacity. If you plan on recording multiple instrumens and vocals, you could remove the hissing in an equalizer, just turn down the 50-60Hz frequency where the hissing is going on.

Overall I really like this mic, it`s the best for this price!

D
Brilliant - for the price it can not be beat
DaMusicMan 21.05.2020
I was looking to record some acoustic guitar- tried the cassette tape but, the quality in the finished recording not the best- decided to use the computer but needed a good mic- I researched the mic's available in a particular price range- after reading the specs of a handful, I decided this t-bone SC440 USB would be the perfect fit- I have order from Thomann numerous times so was not surprised the about the quickness of the order- The mic itself is very impressive - reminds me of all the up market studio mic's I have used in the past- Depending on the software program, it is really a simple plug and play mic. It did take a few practice takes to get the levels I was happy with regarding picking up the acoustic guitar, the vocals the same, BUT, the end result was exactly what I was hoping for- Two thumbs up to Thomann for a brilliant piece of kit- by the way, one will never go wrong with the description on the web site- Thanks

AS
Fabulous microphone!
Allan Shearer 14.02.2021
So far, I have bought 2 of these ... and I am about to buy a 3rd only because my friend loved it so much that he is taking my 2nd mic, so, I need to replace it.
SOLIDLY built ... nice and weighty ... excellent 'feel quality'. Does NOT feel cheap. But what is most important, of course, is the sound quality - and it is TOP quality!
We use these mics for doing video production, singing/recording, and video-conferencing. Everyone who hears what we produce is amazed at this mic - and cannot believe that it costs so little!
For our needs ... we don't need an 'expensive' mic, but, we are DELIGHTED with something like this that is both WELL built AND low-price.
I'm now off to buy my 3rd!! :)

SS
Surprisingly good.
Sebastian Schuth (Cubica Sound) 21.10.2021
I was relentless to try USB condenser Microphones, because I come from the past generation of Microphones. So I decided to try a cheap kit, and two months later, I have been gladly impressed. It is rugged, the case does protect the microphone, and the sound is very adequate for a polar cardioid. I still would argue that this type of mics are NOT always for musicians, because they lack the connectivity that an XLR cable offers.
