Great reed for jazz soprano playing. Personal with my setup them to create a little too much buzz in the lower register, but I use a metal yanagisawa mouthpiece so this may just be a slight incompatability. Otherwise a great product.

I play these reeds on the alto and tenor saxophone, where they also work wonderfully. Unfortunately I don't like them on the soprano... Good response and playing behavior, BUT very aggressive and direct sound. I personally don't like the soprano, but it's purely a matter of taste...

Accustomed to LaVoz Medium Hard reeds, either on a Meyer 8M mouthpiece or on a Jody Jazz HR*6, I wanted to test the Java Red which I had already read highly praised. At the corresponding strength (slightly lower) I opted for 3. What a marvel! Brilliance, projection, flexibility, incredible ease of emission both in the bass (D to Bb) and in the treble (D-G), I am amazed and amazed by the rendering of this reed on the Jody Jazz mouthpiece. To be confirmed with other identical reeds under test, because I may have come across the reed "of the century" :)
