This amp is incredibly versatile, whether you are looking for the classic British invasion tone or a starting point to develop your own sound this amp is a great choice. It takes pedals exceptionally well, has a smooth yet chimey clean sound and breaks up really well on both normal and top boost channels (you can jump these channels with a patch cable for extra grit). The master volume is a nice inclusion for quieter practicing though the natural speaker compression occurs only at loud volumes. The master section also includes a tone cut, which is useful for bright guitars (almost a necessity for a single coil strat on anything other than neck pickup). The classic vox tremolo sounds great and the reverb has a tone knob for more versatility. The alnico blue speakers are the only real option for that quintessentially AC30 sound, though don't be afraid to try other combinations using the external and extension speaker outputs - I've had great success with a homemade 1x12 cabinet containing a celestion creamback.
