A classic among Rock cymbals

Cymbal manufacturer Zultan began its success story with the launch of its "Rock Beat" series in the year 2000. These cymbals are hammered and milled by hand in Zultan's workshops by Turkish artisans and guarantee a full and multifaceted sound that easily cuts through in a mix and makes them perfect for Rock music. Thanks to the wide range of models, sizes, and thicknesses available, however, players of many other styles will also find what they are looking for here. Never before has a professional cymbal sound been available at such an affordable price.

Zultan Rock Beat 22" Heavy Ride

Bright sound and dazzling looks

For centuries, a combination of 80% copper and 20% tin has been the recipe for perfection when it comes to cymbal-making, and is consequently the one used by every manufacturer for their top-of-the-line series. The prices that these cymbals fetch leave the majority of drummers shaking their heads, however - all the better therefore that Zultan's Rock Beat series is within the reach of those who don't have a fortune to spend. The sound of the 22" Heavy Ride is clear and full and the bell provides a punchy high end, while the cymbal's dazzling finish makes it look pretty damn good at the same time.

More than just Rock

When it says "Rock" on the outside, there should be Rock on the inside - and that is absolutely true of Zultan's Rock Beat series. Thanks to its clear and powerful sound, the 22" Heavy Ride can easily cut through over distorted guitars and is therefore the ideal choice for all types of Rock music. It is also a great choice for styles like Pop, Funk, and Blues - provided of course that a more "dominant" ride sound is desired.

About Zultan

To provide traditional craftsmanship at a fair price has been the guiding principle of Zultan ever since it was founded in 2000. The firm’s practice of selling directly to the end customer makes it possible to offer very customer-friendly prices. Nevertheless, the production process for Zultan’s trademark cymbals, which are made mainly in Turkey, is of the highest quality, a fact which has ensured they have also been a fixture in the Thomann range since 2011. The nearly 250 Zultan products cover several cymbal series, catering for all sectors of the music market. Zultan also offers accessories such as bags and drumsticks. Thanks to the use of high-quality materials and manufacturing expertise, Zultan really does offer uncompromising quality at a reasonable price.

Professional sound at a budget-friendly price

Those who start learning to play the drums should pay particular attention to the quality of their cymbals, because while lower-grade cymbals may be sufficient for the needs of some players, they do still have clear limitations in terms of dynamics and expression. With its Rock Beat 22" Heavy Ride (or perhaps even one of its affordable complete sets), Zultan gives drummers impressive quality at an affordable price, so an enjoyable playing experience is guaranteed in the long term. Even professional drummers who already have B20 cymbals may find the 22" Heavy Ride to be the perfect addition to their existing setup.

Heavy ride for heavy music
Vykintas 01.03.2020
This ride is really heavy and thick - its hard to take it off the stand with one hand. The stick deffinition is amazing with this cymbal. It also looks great with the brilliant finish. Really suitable for metal music.
Now onto the downsides - this ride has a really promiment overtone problem due to its thickness (I have even seen someone on Youtube commenting over that). Especially when you are playing fast on it. The bell is also slightly weird - the diameter is good, but the bell sitts quite low. Im short - the bell looks something not of a ride cymbal. It sound good though (not amazing). I have slapped a moon gel on it to control the overtones - everything seems fine now, stick deffinition is even more clear now, although I have lost some of the volume (not so much however).
I really like it, however I would also consider other options, for example the F5 series (i believe it also has a heavy version ride now). Would suite anyone who is playing heavier music.

Big cymbal for a big sound
Zacharie 13.08.2013
I use this 22" ride to play loud, and it works. In fact, in many of the song I play, I fully dig into the cymbal to get the fullest sound possible, the cymbal answers quite quickly with a warm, filling, loud and defined sound. Suitable for heavy music, I wouldn't recommend it for soft style. The heavy weight cymbal type will not allow you to play with low dynamic changes easily, it's doable, but tricky. Pretty good price for such a big cymbal. Very resistant.

Okay Ride

According to my taste the cymbal is o.k. It is not a loud one. If you play it with the tip of the stick or hit it as a crash, it produces a small amount of sound. 20'' Rock Beat Medium Ride is louder than this brother cymbal. But the quality is good though, it's thickness can stand a hard controlled beating with no problem. If the bell was a bit more to my taste, I would rate it better.

Preis/Leistung stimmt hier absolut. Top!
