An amazing musical experience
Calvinios 26.06.2020
this is a delay to get excited about. It has a personality and can be regarded as a sound/instrument in its own right. Do unlock the power of the pedal with the footswitch for ramping and turning off/on the modulation section it gives loads of dimension to a pedal that can do everything from slap back to aliens landing on the lawn, wibble wibble and make it sound fun.
I am someone that hates noise in my chain. This pedal has its own sound and a type of noise when activated but I found it to be musically pleasing. This pedal is built well and has done nothing but inspire me.
When buying a pedal there is a good chance the pedal has a role/function to fill in a pedal board. This delay is, and should be, well regarded for being analogue, having tap tempo and expression pedal possibilities and a host of modulation/ramping/drive features, not to mention it's own effects loop (!!) all at a great price. That should not work against the fact that this pedal is also lush and warm and deeply musical and can do straight delay jobs very well, if not better than what you are currently using.

I noticed a small volume bump when I activated the pedal. That has to be taken into account when put in any chain or used for any working function. In my case, I fell in love so hard with the sound of this pedal that, I realised it was an instrument in its own right and has its own section of a board when I use it. It really can be an entire soundscape generator in its own right, though I would suggest the requirement of the FS3X expression foot pedal to unlock the joy.

First impressions : Great tone and very musical!

I was blown away by how this pedal adds warmth to my tone (even when low in the mix). Without knowing much about the inner workings of pedals, I’d say this has an awesome buffer (?).

The momentary switches (rubberneck / regen) are an easy way to spend a few hours experimenting, but also seems like it would work well for live settings if dialed in. Although a bit unpredictable, you can easily release the switch(es) and return back to the dialed settings to instantly regain control.

As a reggae / dub enthusiast, I was interested in being able to control self oscillations: allowing you to go from clean and tight repeats- to messy - and back again (hope that makes sense).

I have to say that the momentary switches work amazingly well for this kind of dub applications; allowing you to accentuate chords / notes and spiral in and out of cavernous echos.

I also picked up a T ring cable to use the effects loop - interested in a Phaser and or Flanger to really chase that dub guitar sound (think : Scientist).

A very versatile analog delay to say the least!!

This thing is Endless!
Has long has you enjoy Analog delay, it is impressive!

I use this with an upright bass in many different circumstances.
There is a lot a control possible over many of the parameters of the delay, like the tone and drive with really change the colour and flavour of the delay.

The modulation is also very nice, it can be really deep and fast and also very light and natural.

What is really interesting and unique about this pedal thought, is the possibility to control and change the speed of the delay with a foot switch, making it possible to create octave jumps for example at the tap of your foot.

Another really great feature is the external loop that affects only the delay sound multiplying the possibilities, you can add for example an EQ, a harmoniser effect anything you want!

If you want to really explore all the possibilities, there is a last connection on the back that can control each switch on the pedal and turn on and off the modulation, but you can also use this connection with a cv message to turn on and of the switch modulating the time to create a sort of octave sequencing!!

It is a very versatile analog delay to say the least!!

Get it while you still can!
Archion 25.09.2021
For about 160 euros you'll get an awesome sounding analog delay with a really nice array of features! The only thing I wish it had was some extra wave shapes for the modulation, but that's just nitpicking, considering its' price and the different options it already has. As it is unclear for how long the Digitech/DOD pedals will be manufactured, I strongly recommend you to grab it while it's possible! If you don't like it you can always send it back and I'm quite sure it will have a great value in the aftermarket.
