This is really the "wah"... simply amazing!
mrodrigues 04.07.2021
After trying several wah's in multi-effects units, I never really found something to relate with. I started to like wah's after the Standard Dunlop GCB-95, and really got into it with, recording with a Dunlop SW95 Slash Wah. On stage however, I use wirelesses with my rig stationed at the back, and the wah just doesn't cut it for me on the effects loop. On the other hand, it's impracticable to send the signal all the way up front to the SW95 wah pedal, and then back again to my rack, (20m or so). So after reading some reviews I bought this DCR-2SR unit, because most users said that it can emulate most of the dunlop wahs.

Pros:
Well it is amazingly versatile, from SW95 to the standard GCB and well beyond, the range of the controls really made this "my wah" pedal instead of a SW95 live emulator.
It has a nice clean boost that can be used fairly to compensate for some diference in volume when the effect is on or off.
It is controlled with a single TRS cable, and when the stages are big I ran 40m of cable between the foot controllers and the rack unitwith no problem .
It takes up to 6 foot controllers, and it simply works with the one you step on with no hassle.
I am using it in front of my amp, (first thing in my signal chain), and it has a wah thru out, (very handy to my tuner).
It is possible to control the unit with a switchless foot controller, (the standard controller that comes with the unit is a regular one, but dunlop sells a CSP-025 unit that does this).

Cons:
Well it's expensive... this has to be a "con" because it is simply the most expensive wah unit on the market.
The dimensions of the rack ear holes are not standard, I had to extend the holes 2mm at each end to make it fit into regular gator racks. It works fine of course, and the screws kind of cover the hole widening, but I don't find it acceptable, (this had me searching everything for standard dimensions, and turns out the DCR-2SR is just not standard).
Handling is pretty straight forward, but the manual doesn't cover the full details of the unit, and when I contacted dunlop asking how the remote on/off was wired they just don't answer.

All in all these "cons" are very very small compared with how great and reliable this unit is, and it just went from something I used in a couple of songs, to something that takes a serious part of my rig, and my sound.
I was a bit worried about the price and considering if I should spend this much money on a wah, but I am totally convinced that this is the best wah ever. Completely worth every penny. I'm using for several months now and my other wah pedals were all boxed and stored. I don't see myself searching for another wah for years to come.

I
Dunlop DCR 2SR Rack Crybaby
Ian6039 16.11.2014
The DCR 2SR Rack Crybaby is an outstanding system for creating a multitude of superb wah sounds.
It is very versatile and offers great control and a really great precise and articulate playing response through the foot controller.
I already own the DCR 1SR and that has the stack of dimes inductor and it is fantastic and this DCR 2SR has the red Fasel inductor so it brings a different sound again.
I am wah addict and the DCR 2SR is absolutely outstanding. The onboard boost is more of a line driver and alters the playing feel/response of the foot controller as it is turned up or down and this a great advantage and the onboard EQ is also very useful. The best feature though is the six different wah ranges and when these are used along with the boost and EQ the ability to precisely sculpt the wah tone and range and playing feel is phenomenal and this Wah then becomes like a surgeons scalpel of wahs and it is capable of producing wah sounds that cannot be found in any stand alone wah pedal currently on the market.
As I already use rack gear the ability to place this wah anywhere in the signal chain is invaluable. The Dunlop DCR 2SR is worth every penny I paid for it.
I should also add that the customer service I received was absolutely top of the range.

Wah-wah at it's best!
peeghee 18.11.2010
