If you're looking for a warmer sound than the regular 60, and a good companion to the 85, look no further.
I've really enjoyed the regular 60 for over a decade now, but the 60A really blew me away.
It's slightly less hot than the 60, but is still a loud pickup.
It has more warmth to it, not as harsh and aggressive as the regular 60.
I'm not going to replace the regular 60's I have in some of my guitars, but it'll be in my to-buy list for future pick-up swaps.
Huge pro to all EMG's are the solderless installation kits they come with.
Takes so much time and effort out of swapping pickup's.
Plus you can get almost every type of switch you'd want from EMG them selves. 3-way toggle, 3-way Tele/Strat and a 5 way "super" Strat, so you can eliminate any soldering.
Like Lego, but for guitars.
In conclusion:
If you want an upgrade from an 81 in the neck position, or a good companion to the 85 in bridge, or maybe just want to try something different... Then this pickup is worth a shot.
