Bass VI
Anonymous 22.10.2015
Atypical use here, but I bought these to go in the bridge and middle position of a Squier Bass VI that I upgraded. Unintended consequence is that they are RWRP to the SD pickup I bought for the neck, although I had to wire that one differently to avoid phase issues. Not relevant here. Overall, I am very satisfied with these pickups (but am happy to have an SJAG-1 in the neck, which is the position I use the most). I have read tons of good reviews of the sound of these pickups, and I like the way they sound. Biggest plus here over the competition is that you get the claws, which come pre-soldered, pickup covers, and really nice screws. It's the little things that make a big difference overall!

Interesting comparison: '65 vs '62
Anonymous 25.08.2016
I bought this set to compare with the stock pickups in the American Vintage 1962 reissue. It's a subtle change, but I find myself drawn towards the neck pickup more, whereas previously I used both neck and bridge.

As usual, the bridge alone remains quite tinny, but perhaps more useful than the 1962s.

Overall this is a fine set of pickups - an absolute no-brainer if you're thinking of upgrading a Japanese Jaguar, and an interesting comparison against USA models.

Definite Improvement over stock CIJ pickups
Alex8229 24.08.2015
I replaced the stock pickups on my Fender Crafted In Japan Jaguar with these and have been very impressed by the improvement in tone and lack of microphonic feedback which was previously a big problem. The pickups were very easy to replace (2 wires on each) especially with the included wiring diagram. The neck pickup now sounds deep and rich and not muddy like the stock pickups. The bridge pickup sounds quite thin but I'm guessing that is how it should sound as both pickups together deliver a full, warm sound with plenty of clarity. Would definitely recommend this upgrade for an authentic Jaguar tone with little effort.

Really good
EliasKost 12.04.2022
These pickups are considered classics for a good reason. They sound great, especially for clean-ish sounds. Clear, percussive, with that signature “hollow” effect. For higher gain I prefer the ‘62 version, but these are hard to find as an aftermarket purchase.
