Terrible power supply
Liukke 23.08.2020
It does its job, quite loud and simple to install.
Very very tiny, I was impressed.

The pot is non-linear which is a shame, since I planned to use it for tiny home studio applications and having a bit more control on the volume would have been amazing...but after just some degrees of turn it's quite loud and hard to replicate the exact same volume on different days.

The worst part is probably the power supply which caused a serious whining noise through my equipment which resulted in unhearable recordings.

I changed it with a Electroharmonix 5mm which sounds way better and extremely clean (electronically speaking).

As long as they ship the item with such poor power supplies it's a waste of money.
And as always biggest appreciation to Thomann for the easiness of return.

Hv
Loud as f**k
Herr vonundzu 21.03.2018
Played into a Marshall 212 and even at 9 o'clock it is too loud for bedroom use. So as a stage set up it will be perfect. With the volume down on the preamp pedal there were great tones and safe volume to be had. A very clear sound and haven't driven it to break up levels yet. Best played on warm setting if you want bedroom sounds that won't annoy your neighbours. Bright would be perfect for recording or live work.

Great but not perfect!
Ralph-UK 17.11.2024
I've tried a lot of different pedal board power amps and from a sound point of view I've been completely blown away by the Baby Bomb. It gives my modeller that real punch in the guts mid range that none of the other power amps have been able to give me and for a fraction of the price.

It does have a few flaws. With the included laptop style power supply there is a high pitch whine but, I've eliminated this by running it from a pedalboard power supply. There is still some low level hiss even with the volume off but the whine is gone. Also the level knob is like a hair trigger, very jumpy at the lower end, it goes from 1-8 with the slightest turn of the knob.

KR
incredible
Kristof R 27.05.2019
I bought this product in order to reduce my equipment, and partially out of curiosity. I've integrated it on my pedalboard and then I simply connect my pedalboard to a 4x12 marshall cab. What can I say, it is loud as hell! It looks strange now to have a cab behind without a head on it, but who cares! You can leave your expensive cabs at home and gig with this small monster. Incredible purchase!
