Mooer Funky Monkey

I'm biased, I have 6 other Mooer pedals . . and . . not only do they function well but they're just great for the price tag. I've had them all for some time now and never any problems with them working, and this one is no exception!

I've rated this with an all 5 stars in each category, simply because not only is it a good automatic wah pedal, but if you wind the "Q" control right back, (the wah depth), you can get some really nice Trem/Vibe sounds with it too!

The controls give a very wide range of wah options!
With a switched high/medium/low signal peak, large central rate/speed knob and a smaller range/sweep control too. The "Q" is equivalent to a "depth" of the effect - to my ears.

Also . . .
With the "Q" set to zero, and the range full on, you will find a Trem/Vibe like sound without the wah tone variation. The rest of the switching works too, to provide an interesting range and addition to this pedal!

I actually use it more for this than the wah, which is good enough already, in its own right!

Well recommend all the Mooer range if you're looking for an excellent price tag and reasonable effects. They are all well made cases and sturdy enough for gigging, but with the added bonus of a small footprint on your pedal-board!

Don't let the size fool you!

Not what I was expecting
Anonymous 04.08.2015
I was looking for a Auto-wah, and I choose this pedal, but it's not what I was looking for. When it's on, it's always making a sound as if the effect exists no matter if I'm playing or not. It doesn't sound like a Auto-wah, but it's ok.. I use it for other purposes no. I would not recommed this to anyone looking for a good auto wah pedal

Best auto-wah on the market?
TheDavidHanmer 22.07.2017
Honestly? Quite possibly! Let's look at the factors here...

Well packaged and quickly shipped as I've come to expect from Thomann!

Perfect, and I mean PERFECT for a small pedalboard, I had a small space on my pedaltrain metro 20 and it fit like a glove!

Sound... Superb! All I can say on that. Sounds exactly what you want a wah to sound like and very tweakable so you can easily make it what YOU want it to sound like.

How to improve it? Expression pedal input maybe? Other than that I really can't think of anything.

Oh... The price... Seriously, BARGAIN!

Great little pedal
Stewart V. 23.04.2016
I bought this as i just couldn't get a Dunlop Cry Baby to work in front of my rig ( tried and sent back 3 - thank you Thomann for your geat customer service).
The pedal is very well made, works great and no need to pump a pêdal. The true bypas is fantastic, no tone sucking (unlike the Cry Baby). Very happy with it.
Take your Les Paul, middle position pick ups, volume 10, tone zero on both pick ups; Funky Monkey Range at 9 o clock, Rate at 12 o clock and connect to a nice valve amp on high gain setting - hey presto, Dire Straits Money for Nothing tone ! !
