An absolutely monster of a bass!!

First and foremost, my thanks to Thomann for their excellent sales and customer service. This bass is a must for anyone dipping their toes into the fretless world. The feel of the neck is simply a total pleasure to play, with the beautiful C style, where you don't feel the edge of the fret wire. The ebony fretboard is so so smooth, and your fingers just glide over it like a figure skater would on ice.

The combination of the flatwound strings, and the ebony fretboard, just creates a whole new sweet melodic voice, that allows you to bring out the most awesome ornamentation while playing.

Now on to the most frustrating part.... Which is.... I can't bring it out on the road because there are no gigs at present, Aarrrgghh!!

I'm running out of room in my music room, due to the amount of basses, (All purchased on Thomann I might add) but I feel compelled to also purchase the fretted version of the V7, and will do so in the new year.

Marcus Miller and Sire guitars, make a great team!!

Pros: 100% killer bass!!
Cons: Absolutely none!!

Superb sounding

This bass delivers exceptional sound quality, tactile satisfaction, and remarkable affordability. I've been using it for four years now and couldn't be happier. The fretboard is as smooth as butter, providing a heavenly playing experience, while the pickups yield an incredible, rich, and deep sound.

The only drawback is its weight; it's noticeably heavier than my other Marcus Miller V7 5-string (fretted), which may be a consideration if you plan to use it standing for extended periods.

In conclusion, its superb build quality and killer sound make it a highly recommended choice!

Une magnifique basse fretless 5 cordes

La première fretless, et la première 5 cordes pour moi également. J'ai déjà une Squier 4 cordes et une Aria acoustique (4 cordes également) et ce nouvel achat (enfin il y a déjà 4 mois) est parfait pour commencer à me positionner correctement, à la fois pour l'arrière de la main pour une 5 cordes, et sur le manche pour une fretless. Super son active en répèt, elle a bien remplacé la "régulière", avec un supplément de profondeur...

Prachtig instrument, afwerking/setup zeer slecht.

Hij is prachtig! Klinkt lekker en de hals is ook fenomenaal.

Echter zijn helaas toch zaken die mij erg teleurstelden.

- Er zaten meerdere ranzige klodders op de hals (lijm?) deze heb ik eraf kunnen krabben, maar dit hoort natuurlijk niet;
- De D-snaar was niet te intoneren. Vanaf de 12e fret was ‘ie meer dan een kwartnoot te hoog, zelfs met het zadel in de achterste positie.
(Hiervoor heb ik via support 40 euro vergoeding gevraagd en gekregen).
- De pre-amp overstuurde als een malle omdat de batterijen leeg waren. 1 was helemaal leeg en de ander half. Dit vind ik lelijk. Lever dan zonder batterijen.
Is ook weer 14 euro extra
- De schroeven van de pickups zitten er erg scheef in. Dat maakt het hoger/lager zetten bijna onmogelijk. Ze staan nu goed, maar is wel lelijk.
- In de beschrijving op de site en de foto’s stond een big-mass brug. Deze zat er echter niet op. Hij is geleverd met een ‘Modern-S’ (Na melding door mij is de tekst op de site aangepast)

Ik heb support gesproken en ze waren zeer verbaasd door de issues. Normaal gesproken worden alle Marcus Miller bassen gechecked. Deze dus duidelijk niet.
Uiteindelijk is het allemaal goed gekomen en het is een prachtige bas die goed klinkt en lekker speelt. De Pre-amp is zeer veelzijdig en het passive geluid is ook mooi.

Nabrander: na een paar meer dagen spelen bleek de G-snaar lelijk aan the lopen rond de 3e 'fret'. Hier zat eer verhoging in de toets die ik heb weggeschraapt. Misschien ooit de toets professioneel laten vlakken, maar voor nu is het goed genoeg.

Nabrander2: toets was op meer plekken hobbelig. uiteindelijk schuurblok gepakt en de lak gevlakt. Nu is 'ie superlekker met een lage actie en zonder aanloop, maar de lak op de toets glimt niet meer natuurlijk, deze is geschuurd.
