I'm using it in smaller combos as well as when playing lead alto in big band. Big, classic alto sound. Meyer type-ish. I bought the 8 mostly because the shorter lay. I think I would preferred a smaller opening but I don't like the longer lay. I combine it with ZZ reeds.

Nachdem ich zahlreiche Mundstücke ausprobiert habe (was Dank dem guten Service bei Thomann problemlos möglich ist) fiel die Wahl auf das Vandoren V-16 A8 mit mittelgroßer Kammer. Ich spiele das Mundstück mit Rico-3er Blättern und bin begeistert von der leichten Ansprache und dem schönen vollen Klang in allen Lagen. Dabei ist die Intonation immer einwandfrei und die dynamischen Möglichkeiten enorm. Für mich ein hervorragendes Mundstück, welches sehr universell einsetzbar ist und klanglich überzeugt.
